Using Photographs to Preserve Memories A new born baby is one of the best gifts that any family can ever receive. As a matter of fact, the joy spreads not just to the family, but the immediate community as well. Such are the lasting memories that you should always make sure you capture with your camera and keep with you for as long as you can remember. If you had never thought about it this way, then now you can. Nothing can outlive the joy of the memories of magical moments captured and well preserved, since you can always get to look back at the good old days sometime in the future. Photographs do play a major role in our lives, though so many of us never really appreciate this. The beauty of having your photographs taken lies in the fact that you can always sit down with your photo album and literally see how you have grown through the ages. Capturing each of the milestones in your life makes it easier for you to tell your story to someone that you have just met, and who would like to know more about you, or your baby. Someone might ask, why not just have a video instead. Well, a video would do too, but the video captures so many other elements too, which have the effect of drawing the attention away from you. However, having your picture taken means that you are the center of attention, and all in the picture is about you. Today things have even become a lot easier since you can simply take your digital camera and have photos of your new born baby, yourself or any other person whose memories you would like to preserve. However, you can, as well, seek the services of a professional photographer to bring out the best in you. | | Friday, October 7th, 2011 | | 5:36 pm |
Make Money Having Fun Have you ever sat down and considered what the world would be in the event that people were not having fun? There are many answers that different people can draw from this question. However, by the end of the day, the world would be a very gloomy place, and life would be rather meaningless for so many of us. However, that is just but a small part of the problem. A world devoid of fun would in the long run lead to so many people being heartless and not caring about what the other person thinks or feels. In reality, humankind as we know it would cease to exist. A lot of people have analyzed the importance of having fun and are using it to their benefit. A common group of individuals that have made quite a fortune in making people have a good time is the corporate sector. These are more or less the people who run the economies of our country. Usually, these people organize events through wherein members of the public are invited to have a good time. More often than not, we will attend these functions because they offer us an opportunity to rub shoulders with many important and even prominent people. However, by the end of the day, the corporates have sent their message home. The message in most cases is usually that whatever you do, they are the right partners to take you through it and without your knowledge, and you will have already joined their bandwagon of customers. However, this is not a bad thing especially if they offer the best services you seek. Talk of people making money while you are having fun and woe unto you if you do not mention the ongoing social media craze. Everyone wants to be part of someone else’s social circle, and as such we make sure that we do is keen on almost all of their activities. We post comments on their blogs and web pages, and also take time to read and find out more on what they are doing. In the process, we share some quotes with friends and even ridicule others, just to have a good time. | | Friday, September 9th, 2011 | | 2:56 pm |
More of the same Functionalists sees society functions as a human body, they see that gender differences contribute to social solidarity and integration. On the basis of a cross-cultural study of more than 200 societies, Murdock (1949) concluded that sex division exists in all cultures. We know the roles of culture, females position in the society are not often powerful than males. In most culture, women have the primary responsibility for childcare and domestic work, while men have traditionally responsibility for providing the family livelihood (Cited in Giddens, 2009). Parsons (1956) suggests that family should have a clear sexual division of labour, especially in the socialisation of children, because female should perform traditional expressive roles at home, looking after children and provide emotional support for husband; while men performs breadwinner role, working outside the world to provide financial support for the family (Cited in Giddens, 2009). Another perspective on childrearing is that mother should have responsibility to provide primary socialisation of children. It could causes development problems if the child was not being cared properly at young age. It may also results of being unsociable and has peer problems at later adulthood. Therefore, mothers need to have a close attachment relationship with their children, and children’s development is related to how the mother socialise with them (Bowlby 1953, cited in Giddens, 2009). |
